Thanks to everyone who includes #alt text in their image-including posts, I don't feel like I'm missing out that much when out and about using #streams web app on Privacy Browser.

My mobile phone is on a limited data plan. I've recently got into the habit of setting my browser to disable image loading when away from home. I've found this to be a great way to browse while out and about without concern of reaching my mobile data cap. I've also come to really appreciate those who include alt text for images they post on here because while my mobile browser isn't loading images, I can still read their descriptions. So thanks for using alt text!

"In the distance" is a good thing.

If you don't have enough stressful apps in your life yet, PulsePoint has been useful for us. It reports all local fire/ambulance calls, and you can select specific incident types (e.g. "Vegetation Fire") to trigger an audible alert. Looks like Sonoma County is covered. There's also a web version at https://web.pulsepoint.org/

Oh wow, we have the repeat function back. Hadn't seen it around here since some versions of Zap ago.

I like that one can relay a post to one's connections (if allowed) when desired and keep our channel home/wall clean. Of course, one can still share a post (preferably with comment) and include it in one's channel home/wall.
